JS committee for appointing more teachers in CHT

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs yesterday recommended steps on emergency basis to appoint teachers against the vacancies in the government primary, secondary schools and colleges in three hill districts, reports BSS. The committee made the recommendation from its 18th meeting that was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Presided over by committee chairman RAM Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury, the meeting was also attended by state-minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing, Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan, Kujendra Lal Tripura, Ushatan Talukder, and MA Awal. The committee also recommended for taking necessary steps for nationalizing 210 primary schools in three hill districts on emergency basis. It also called for a new committee for the management of Kaptai Lake, with state-minister for Chi­ttagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry, representatives from Hill District Councils and Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council as its members. Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry secretary, representatives from Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Ministry, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, senior officials of JS Secretariat were present in the meeting.
