KHULNA: The 12th death anniversary of eminent journalist Humayun Kabir Balu will be observed here today in a befitting manner, reports BSS.
To mark the day, Khulna Press Club, Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ) and Humayun Kabir Balu Smrity Parisad chalked out elaborate programmes.
The programmes include placing of wreaths at the journalists monument on Khulna Press Club premises, holding commemoration meeting, human chain and protest rally, and offering munajat at the graveyard of journalist Balu at Basupara in the city.
Humayun Kabir Balu, a former President of Khulna press Club and Editor of Dainik Janmobhumi was bombed to death on June 27 in 2004 in front of his office-cum-residence at Islampur Road area in the city.
He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2009 for his contribution in journalism and for playing glorious role in the Liberation War.
