Department of Youth Development has trained 15,30,982 unemployed youths and helped 4,29,567 trained male and female youths attaining self-dependence since 2009, reports BSS. “The government has undertaken and is implementing various development projects along with national service programme for removing unemployment and making the youths human resources,” State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder told the House yesterday.
Replying to a question from treasury bench member AKM Rahmatullah, he said the youth development department under the youth and sports ministry has been providing training to male and female youths on 74 trades. Besides, the youth development department is allocating loan to youths for establishing and expanding self-employment projects, Dr Biren said, adding, “1,000 computers have been distributed among 1,000 youth organisations for giving computer training to youths through Youths Club.” The government has also undertaken initiatives to provide Internet connection to all districts and upazilas for getting information on youth’s programme to expedite youth activities in the country, the state minister said. The government has been implementing various development projects for turning all unemployed youths into worthy and productive human resources through providing training and creating job opportunities, he added.
