NILPHAMARI: Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated 8,278 tonnes of rice for distribution among the poor people in six upazilas of the district on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, reports BSS.
Of the total rice, 8,000 tonnes will be distributed among about 400,000 poor families of 6 upazilas of the district. Each VGF card holder family will get 20 kilograms rice instead of 10 kgs, official sources said.
Rest 278 tonnes rice will be distributed among the 13,863 dwellers in four pourasavs of the district before Eid-ul-Fitr, District Relief and Rehabilitation official Tajul Islam said.
