3 youths killed in Ctg; 4 held

In two separate incidents, three youths were killed in Chittagong city on Monday night within a span of two hours. At Hamzarbag, two friends were stabbed to death around 10pm. The killing was attributed to romantic affairs. Four persons were arrested in this connection. The deceased were identified as Yeasin (16) and Kawsar (18). A garments worker was stabbed to death at Postarpar area, allegedly by some of his colleagues on Monday evening. He was identified as Badiuzzaman Sagor (19).
Panchlaish police sub-inspector Abdur Razzak said some miscreants stabbed Yeasin and Kawsar to death around 10 pm at Songeet Cinema Hall area of Hamzarbag.
Earlier, led by Yeasin and Kawsar, a group of youths had assaulted Sajib, a person working at a local food manufacturing factory, over a previous enmity. After half-an- hour, Sajib and his friends went to attack the duo.
Razzak said that Sajib and his friends stabbed Yeasin and Kawsar, leaving them fatally injured. Later, locals sent the duo to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital where they were declared dead by doctors. “Sajib had an affair with a girl. Later, the girl ditched him and began an affair with one of the deceased,” added Razzak.
A case was lodged with Panchlaish Police Station in this regard. The police arrested Sajib and his three accomplices Maharram, Faruk and Sagor on Monday night.
In a separate incident, garment worker Badiuzzaman Sagor was stabbed to death at Postarpar area around 8pm.
Bashir Uddin Khan, officer in-charge of Double Mooring Police Station, said Badi, who worked at the iron section of a local garments factory, had previous enmity with some of his colleagues.
