India happy with security
measures

Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla yesterday expressed his satisfaction over the security measures taken at Ramakrishna Mission in Dhaka. “The security arrangement around the Mission cannot be better. We are quite satisfied with the arrangement although I am only a visitor here,” he said while visiting the mission. “I can only say, the things seem to be under control,” he added. The envoy also expressed satisfaction with the security measures taken by the government to ensure security of the people including minority communities across the country. “We have to recognize that the responsibility of protecting the citizens of Bangladesh is the job of the government of Bangladesh,” he said.
“We do see that the government of Bangladesh has taken a very very strong measure to ensure that all people of the country including minority communities are provided security as much as possible,” he added. Shringla further said, “We do also understand that the magnitude and challenges are quite significant. But, obviously steps are being taken. As a neighbor, as a friend of Bangladesh, as partner of Bangladesh, we can only offer our fullest support and assistance for anything where our support might be required, but otherwise we are fully confident in the capacity and the capabilities and also the resolution of the government to address the issue.”
