RAJSHAHI: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to overall developments, reports BSS.
Present govt. has been working relentlessly and also attained remarkable success in various fields.
He defined the country at present is progressing fast in every sector, including foreign policy. Now Bangladesh has become a rice-exporting country instead of importing one.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the newly constructed Charghat Upazila Parishad Complex and its auditorium in its premises as chief guest in the district on Saturday.
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) constructed the complex and the auditorium at a cost of Taka 4.78 crore.
Among other, LGED Additional Chief Engineer Ali Ahmed and Superintending Engineer Golam Mostofa addressed the meeting as special guests with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdus Samad in the chair.
Shahriar Alam said: “We’ve already stepped into that stairs as Bangladesh has been declared a lower middle-income country from the lower-income nation”.
“Bangladesh doesn’t want to stay at the lower ladder... it wants to climb to the
peak and we will do whatever necessary for that.”
He also called for drastic action against all sorts of terrorism, anarchism and subversive activities for the sake of more improvement of the nation.
The state Minister said the public in general will surely raise voice and build strong resistance against all destructive activities for greater interest.
Terming the secret and target killing, anarchic and subversive activities as an ulterior motive to destroy the hard-earned democracy as well as the nation he said there is no alternative to build social movement to uproot the evil design.
