Talented actress Joya Ahsan, who has earned immense admiration and recognition for her brilliant acting in numerous tele-dramas and films throughout her career, this time around, is going to introduce herself as a film producer. DhakaLive has news that Joya will make her first film based on a notable novel titled ‘Devi’ by late legendary writer Humayun Ahmed. Moreover, Joya’s film has received a grant from the government in fiscal year 2015-16.
Beginning her career as a model in the year 1990, Joya Ahsan has been working in the media for a long time. Meanwhile, her works in modelling, television commercial, TV plays and films have been praised widely. And now, she is going to produce a commercial film for the first time. Joya informed that she will certainly enjoy her new venture.
Joya made her silver screen debut with the film titled ‘Doob Satar’ directed by Nurul Alam Atique. Then, she came into limelight after playing a special role in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki-directed film ‘Bachelor’. Consequently, leaving tele-dramas gradually, Joya involved herself in the film in full-swing. Her works have always been admired by the audience, also by the jury board of the National Film Award. As a result, she won the most prestigious award in the film given by the state for two times; her awards came for acting in Nasiruddin Yousuf Bachchu’s ‘Guerrilla’ and Redwan Roni’s ‘Chorabali’.
Joya’s acting was also immensely praised outside Bangladesh. She acted in an Indian Bengali film ‘Rajkahihi’ directed by Srijit Mukherji last year. To recognise her role in this film, she was awarded in the 16th edition of Tele-Cine Award ceremony recently.
Joya is presently working in yet another new film titled ‘Peyarar Subas’ under the direction of Nurul Islam Atique. Besides, Joya-acted several films are awaiting release soon. l
