Government has decided to provide grant to a total of twelve films for the fiscal year 2015-16. Among these films, seven are full-length feature films and 5 are short films. The decision has been made through two separate gazette on June 13. Selected seven full-length feature films are—childrens film ‘Ankhi O tar Bondhura’ based on the novel of Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, which will be directed by Morshedul Islam; a film based on the novel of Humayun Ahmed, will be produced by Joya Ahsan; Kamal Ahmed Saimon and Sara Afrin-produced film ‘Shankhadhwani’; ‘Gohine Baluchor’ based on the story of Bodrul Anam Soud; ‘Briddhasram’, scripted by Komol Sarkar, Swapan Chowdhury will direct the film; ‘Sabitree’ based on the story of ‘Tushar Abdullah and Pantha Prasad, the film will be directed by Prantha Prasad. Scripted and directed by Kawsar Chowdhury, documentary film ‘Bodhyabhumite Ekdin’ has also been selected for government grant.
On the other hand, the list of short films are—Abu Sayed Rabbi produced and directed ‘Bratyajon’, Rajib Ahsan’s ‘Naamhin, Gotrohin’, children based short film ‘Saikel Balok’ produced by Arifuzzaman and directed by Habib, Dewan Badal’s ‘Jolokonya’ and Sahjahan Shamim-directed documentary ‘Roktabolir Kanna’.
