2 DNCC staff suspended 
for irregularities

The executive engineer of Dhalpur mechanical engineering department of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and one of his assistants have been suspended on charge of irregularities and mismanagement.
They were suspended following an order of DNCC mayor Annisul Haque during his sudden visit to the workshop on Saturday, where the city corporation’s vehicles are repaired and maintained.
Annisul during the visit found that heavy vehicles like trucks, microbuses, pay-loaders, bulldozers, hydraulic cars, sucker machines, waste containers and machineries are wasting crores taka of the corporation for the mismanagement and irregularities.
He gave an order to immediately suspend the executive engineer and one of his assistants for the irregularities.
He also directed the superintendent engineer and mechanical engineer,
transport and waste management engineer to coordinate and attend the office
regularly and asked the chief engineer to visit the office and submit the report once every month.
He visited the whole area and asked the authorities concerned of the mechanical department to make a computer based data base of the machineries.
Besides, he also asked for modernising the store house, office building, waste containers and making the unused heavy vehicles active.
Annisul wrote on his Facebook wall, “I suddenly visited the mechanical department of DNCC. I noticed the instance of wastage of public property and money. I became astonished to see the level of irregularities occurring here.
I swear to handle them strictly.”  Later, he also visited waste management field at Baliarpur at Aminbazar.
He expressed disappointment at the irregularities of the waste management and formed a five member committee appointing chief engineer its head to monitor wastage of oil by the vehicles carrying wastes to the dumping grounds.
He also asked for setting close circuit cameras and land phones there.
