Pabna: A court yesterday placed an accused, arrested in connection with the killing of a worker of a Hindu Ashram, on a five-day remand, reports UNB. Pabna Chief Judicial Magistrate Najimudoullah passed the order when police produced Abul Hashem, 50, before the court with remand prayer. Earlier, police arrested Abul Hashem, of Himayetpur village, from the upazila yesterday, said Abdullah Al Hasan, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. Police suspected that Abul Hashem is the mastermind of the killing, said the OC. With this, two people were arrested so far in connection the murder. On Saturday, police arrested a local leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir for his suspected involvement in the killing of Nittyaranjan Pandey, an attendant of a Hindu Ashram from Sadar upazila. Nittyaranjan Pandey, 62, a worker of Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra Ashram (asylum) was hacked to death by unidentified criminals in Hemayetpur upazila early Friday.
