Two Bangladeshi nationals returned home from India through Benapole check-post on Sunday night after languishing in an Indian jail for four years. The returnees were identified as Shadin, 35, and Nizamuddin, 34, of Sunamganj district. Indian police handed them over to the Bangladeshi immigration police at Benapole check-post. Quoting the returnees, Aslam Khan, officer-in-charge of Benapole Immigration police, said some human traffickers took Shadin and Nizamuddin to India promising them lucrative job, but they landed in Indian jail on charge of illegal entry into India. The decision of their release came following a joint intervention of the home ministries of India and Bangladesh. Later, the Petrapole Immigration police of India handed over them to Benapole port police on Sunday night.
