Satkhira: Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Debnagar village in Sadar upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB. The arrested was identified as Maulana Zafarullah, president of Debnagar ward unit of Jamaat. Officer-in-charge of sadar police station Emdad Sheikh said on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at the house of Zafarullah in the area and arrested him at about 9:00 am. The Jamaat leader was charged with trying to kill local journalist Yearob, the OC added.
