How did you get into acting? Who inspired you?
I always believed that to become an actor, I needed to have some academic studies in this field. So, first I completed a an acting course from acting school Shampurna, and then I completed another course in drama theatre from Pracchonat acting school. My first TV drama was ‘Molla Goj Naforali’, it was directed by actress Rozina. She encouraged me a lot and told me never to give up. From that day, I promised myself that I will become a good actor.
Do you think institutional learning is necessary for acting?
Definitely, I believe it is necessary, otherwise, I would not have done so myself. Anyone can be an actor, but to become a good actor, you need to work really hard. You need to observe, feel, understand the character, then find a suitable way to present it to the viewers.
Tell us about your remarkable works so far.
For me, every work I have done is close to me, it will be unjust if I just mention one or two names. But in films, ‘Amar Piraner Kono Mapnei’, directed by Shohidul Haq Khan, which is going to be released soon, is among my favourite.
What keeps you busy nowadays?
Nowadays, I am busy with shooting. Whatever free time I get, I like to pass the time by practicing and reading books.
What would be your advice to newcomers?
I, myself, am a newcomer in a way. But all I will say is: make sure you give your 100 per cent when you are acting.
What is your future plan?
I want to see myself as a good actor and a good person.
