Adity Mohsin to perform Rabindra Sangeet at IGCC today

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising an evening of Rabindra Sangeet by prominent Rabindra Sangeet exponent Aditi Mohsin today at its Gulshan premises. Born in Dhaka, Aditi Mohsin received initial training in music from Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts in Dhaka. In 1992, she won the ICCR Scholarship and went to pursue her music training at the Visva Bharati University in Shantiniketan. There, Adity trained under noted exponents of Rabindra Sangeet like Smt. Kanika Bandopadhyay, Smt. Nilima Sen, Shri Gora Sarbadhikari, Smt. Swastika Mukherkee, Shri Mohan Singh, Shri Arupratan Banerjee and others. Aditi subsequently completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music from the Visva Bharati University with First Class Honours.
Aditi Mohsin thereafter worked as a senior teacher with Chhayanaut till the year 2000. Bengal Foundation has released four solo albums of Aditi Mohsin in Bangladesh, and HMV Sa Re Ga Ma has released three of her solo musical albums. Adity Mohsin won the title of ‘Anyanna Shirsho Dosh’ (title bestowed on top 10 women of Bangladesh every year) in 2004 for music as also the Citycell-Channel i Music award in 2006 for being the best Rabindra Sangeet singer. She has travelled widely to countries like the USA, UK, Canada, UAE, China, Indonesia and India for performances. She is a regular artiste in prominent radio and television channels of Bangladesh and India. Recently, on May 22 this year, she has performed in the Festival of Indian Classical Music held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
