Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said the government will distribute pre-primary textbook of five ethnic minorities in their mother tongues and teaching manual for the teacher for the first time in the country.
He also said that the government would provide 36,03,18,979 textbooks free of cost among students in the next academic calendar, reports BSS. The minister came up with this announcement at a view exchange meeting on textbook printing for 2017 at National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) auditorium.
“We are working for writing textbooks in Chakma, Marma, Tripura Kabbar, Sadri and Garo languages so that children of these ethnicities could start their education life with own mother tongues,” added the education minister.
Mentioning that they are formulating 60 lakh “Teachers’ Guide” for primary teacher and 40.32 lakh “Teachers’ Curriculum” for high school teacher, Nahid said, those
guide books are being prepared for the overall development of the education system.
Education secretary Sohrab Hossain, additional secretary Dr Molla Jalaludddin and NCTB member Professor Ratan Siddiquee also spoke on the occasion with NCTB chairman Professor Narayan Chandra Saha in the chair.
