With its worldwide release, a new superhero film titled ‘Deadpool’ saw its release in Dhaka on Friday. The film is currently being screened at Star Cineplex of Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in the city’s Panthapath area.

‘Deadpool’ is a 2016 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, is the eighth instalment in the X-Men film series. The film is directed by Tim Miller, with a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, and Leslie Uggams.

The film follows Wade Wilson who, after being subjected to an experiment that leaves him with new abilities, hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, has become a fan favourite because he’s, well, crazy. He often breaks the fourth wall, addressing the reader directly — even commenting on the fact that he’s a comic book character. He also engages in witty banter with the many voices inside his head. Mentally unstable, sure, but definitely fun.
