Kolkata beat Pune in rain-hit IPL match

Kolkata Knight Riders eased to an eight-wicket win over Rising Pune Supergiants on Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain-affected IPL game in Kolkata yesterday, reports skysports.com.
Pune had struggled to 103-6 when the rain came down and after a delay of over two hours, Kolkata were given a revised target of 66 from nine overs.
They lost two wickets in the first over of the chase before Yusuf Pathan, coming in a four, smashed 37 from 18 to win it for the Knight Riders with 24 balls to spare.
Batting first, Pune saw Ajinkya Rahane (2) bowled by Andre Russell in the third over. Usman Khawaja (21) was the next man to go and just as George Bailey and Saurabh Tiwary looked to be building a useful partnership, both were dismissed in the spare of 6 balls.
From there it was a real grind for Pune and they had barely reached 100 by the time the rain cut their innings short.
