Preparation for Asia Cup soccer kicks-off

National team footballers start preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup home and away match with Tajikistan at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital yesterday. BFF PHOTO

Mannaf Rabbi is very much excited to receive a call in the national team when he put across his reaction to the reporters just before  beginning the first training session for the Asia Cup yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Rabbi, who drew the attention of the coach for the first time in the preliminary squad of the main national side, also played in the age group national teams.
Mannaf, a short stature youngster always bears a good fitness said, “I am really excited having the call in the main national team for the first time. Feelings is excellent. Very first time I had call in the national Under-19 team and could able to make room in the playing squad, then I target to have call in the Under-23 and also had the opportunity to play as a regular member of the team.”
“After playing in the U-23, I was also dreaming to wear the jersey of the main national team and step by step I have come here. I am expecting to have a place in the final squad.”
Mannaf, about the national coach Lodewijk De Kruif said, “Kruif likes fighter, hard working players, I also like to work hard and will try to satisfy the coach.”
Meanwhile, out 34 players, who have call in the preliminary team, 21 players made their report yesterday as rest of the players will report today,  team manager Sattayajit Das Rupu informed.
Rupu said that for different reasons some players failed to make their report on time and they will come from tomorrow.  
Rupu informed, Kesto Kumar, Linkon, Himel, Topu, Jewel Rana and Raju, who went to Philippines with Sheikh Jamal to play in the AFC Club Cup were yet to arrive and he expected that will arrive today and will join in the camp very soon.
