SATKHIRA: Members of the BGB in a pre-dawn raid seized huge quantity of Indian sari and cloth worth more than Taka 1.7 crore from a covered van at pourasava area in Kalaroa upazila of the district on Thursday, reports BSS. Acting on a tip off, a team of BGB 38 Battalion of Satkhira conducted the raid in the area and recovered 2,740 pieces of sari and 3,200 meters of cloth from the covered van worth more than Taka 1.7 crore after making a search in the vehicle, Battalion commander Lt.col.Arman Hossain said. The driver and helper managed to flee from the scene leaving the vehicle as the BGB team gave a signal to stop the covered van, the sources added. The seized sari and cloth were deposited with local customs office. A case was recorded with Kalaroa thana in this connection.
