The curtain of an eight-day ‘5th National Youth Theatre Festival 2016’ will fall today through staging three plays at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the city. Today, Loko Natyadal (Dhaka) will come on stage with their play ‘Obak Jolpan’ at 6:30pm, while Pidim Theatre will stage ‘Kothar Kotha’ at 7:30pm and Notre Dame College Theatre will stage ‘Monthon’ at the National Music and Dance auditorium of BSA at 8:15pm. Earlier, at 4:30pm an elaborated programme will be held at the Academy’s Nandan Mancha on the occasion of closing ceremony. However, organised by People’s Theatre Association (PTA) with the help of Cultural Ministry and BSA, the curtain rose on ‘5th National Youth Theatre Festival 2016’ on April 23 at the National Theatre Main Hall of BSA in Segun Bagicha in the city. Each evening, four shows are staged. The eight-day festival that features as many as 23 stage plays, workshop, puppet show, clown show, magic program and theatre games is scheduled to conclude today. During the festival, a total of seven universities and 22 groups from all over the country took part with their productions.
