The third round games of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) for the 2016 season will resume with a day break at three different venues in Dhaka and its adjoining areas today. Abahani Limited will face-off Brothers Union at BKSP Ground-3 in Savar, defending champion Prime Bank Cricket Club will take on Kalabagan Krira Chakra at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, while runners-up Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club will clash against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah. All the matches will kick start at 9:00am.
Although Abahani Limited won their opener against Kalabagan Krira Chakra by seven wickets they lost their second round game to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by just four runs. So, they seek to claw back in the winning ways.
Dhanmondi outfit held a team meeting following their pre-match day practice session at National Cricket Academy yesterday. After the practice, pace sensation Taskin Ahmed said that they want to bounce back in the next match.
“That was bad day for us. We don’t want to recollect it as we have some more games ahead. We can’t spoil our other league matches to think more about the last match’s result,” said Taskin Ahmed.
“We will try to play better cricket. We want to bounce back from the next match by playing our better game,” the 21-year-old pacer told reporters.
On the other hand, Kalabagan Krira Chakra led by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza did their pre-match day practice at morning session at the same ground. The team has already played two matches in the league. But they could not win any match yet. So, they will also expect to win the next match.
In this regard, Kalabagan’s Zimbabwean recruit Hamilton Masakadza said that they want to come back in the league with a win.
“We’re yet to win any match in the league. So, the next match is important for us. We want to start the league by winning the next match,” said Hamilton Masakadza.
