Five killed in road crashes in 2 districts

Five people were killed in separate accidents in Tangail and Sirajganj districts yesterday.
Our Tangail correspondent says: Three people were killed and another was injured as a truck plunged into a roadside ditch at Asimtala on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila early yesterday.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Gorai highway police camp said a Sirajganj-bound CI sheet-laden truck from Dhaka fell into a roadside ditch in the area after its driver lost control over the steering at about 5:00 am, leaving three people dead on the spot and one injured.
The injured was admitted to Mirzapur Kumudini Medical College Hospital.
In Sirajganj: Two persons were killed and ten others injured in separate accidents in the district yesterday, reports BSS.
A woman was killed and three others were injured when a pickup van collided head-on with a CNG-run autorickshaw at Mofij intersection in Kamarkhand upazila yesterday afternoon.
The deceased was Manikjan Begum, 45, of  Salonga upazila. In another incident, a man was killed and seven others were injured when a bus fell into a roadside ditch on Banpara-Hartikumrul highway in Tarash upazila.
The deceased was Sabed Hasan, hailing from Fulchar area in Natore district.
