Sitting senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedi is all set to retain for the same post unopposed of Bangladesh Football Federation as his only other opponent Dewan Shamsul Arefin Tutul withdrew his candidature from the same  post yesterday. The last date of withdrawal of nomination papers ended yesterday (Wednesday). Incidentally Salam filed nomination on behalf of Kazi Salahuddin panel, while Tutul filed nomination from Save the Football panel.
 The elections of the Bangladesh Football Federation executive committee will be held on April 30.
 A total of eleven persons have quit the race, informed  by the chief election commissioner Mesbah Uddin. “As the withdrawal time ended at 6 pm (Wednesday) therefore no other candidate from any post can’t withdraw from the elections,” said Mesbah Uddin. Before the announcement of the  chief election commissioner there was a rumour in the football arenathat current president Kazi Salahuddin would withdraw his name from the presidency  which ultimately proved to be wrong.
Earlier, Manzur Kader, president of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Lokman Hossain Bhuyian, director in charge of Mohammedan Sporting Club, withdrew their names from the senior vice-president on Tuesday.
Now all four persons who have filed nominations for the president post are eligible to contest in the polls. BFF incumbent president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin will face three other rivals in the election are Quamrul Ashraf Khan, MP, from Save the Football panel. Golam Rabbani Helal and Md Nurul Islam Nuru are the other two independent candidates.
Ten persons will fight for four vice-president post.  Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Badal Roy, Al-haj Shamsul Haque Chowdhury  and  Mohiuddin Mahi from Salahuddin panel, while Khurshid Alam Babul, Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu and Najeeb Ahmed from Save the Football panel. AKM Mominul Haque  Tabith Awal and Sheikh Maruf Hasan are the two independent candidates.
On the other hand 33 councillors will contest for 15 members post. They are: Harunur Rashid, Amirul Islam Babu, Sattyajit Das Rupu, Fazlur Rahman Babul, Ilyas Hossain, Mahfuza Akhtar Kiron, Sawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, Mahiuddin Ahmed Selim, Abdur Rahim, Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, Amit Khan Shuvra, Saleh Zaman Selim, Arif Hossain Moon, Alamgir Khan Alo and Toufiqul Islam Tofa (Salahuddin panel).
Save the Football panel: Nawsher Uzzaman, Sheikh Md Aslam, Abdul Gaffar, Abu Hasan Chowdhury Prince, Azfaruzzaman Khan Sohrab, Tipu Sultan, Md Iqbal , Quamrun Nahar Dana, Syed Rumman Bin Walid Sabbir and Kaiser Hamid.
