Bibiana, a leading boutique house in the country, organised a ten-day embroidery exhibition titled ‘Symphony of Needle Work 2015’ at EMK Centre in the capital’s Dhanmondi area from Tuesday.
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, Managing Director of Transcom Foods Ltd Akku Chowdhury inaugurated the exhibition.
Around 100 types crafts outfits, concepts by designer Lipi Khandakar are available in the exhibition. They specialise on 100 percent cotton, mixed cotton, dhupian, silk and khadi. The nicely aligned display of traditional attires includes all kinds of vibrant and soothing colours – yellow, pink, purple, blue, brown, and light green. There is a wide variety in white colour collections. Attractive embroidered sari, jacket, shawl, scarf, handbag, necklace and a lot more are also being displayed. Bibiana’s significant motive behind the exhibition is to present the existing position of traditional needle work to the young generation.
Bibiana will felicitate embroidery artiste Harun Ar Rashid in the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open to all 10am to 7pm, until June 25, (Closed on Friday).
