Audience-admired Bangladeshi actress Bidya Sinha Saha Mim and West Bengal popular actor Soham have paired up together for the first time in a joint venture film titled ‘Rocket’.
The Shubho Mahurat of the film was held at a city hotel on Monday evening with Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu present as the chief guest. Soham flew in from Thailand for this occasion. Besides Soham, actress Mim, actor Amit Hasan, director Kamal Muhammad Kibria Lipu, among others, were also present.
Soham said regarding acting in a Bangladeshi film, “My grandfather hails from Mymensingh; so for a long time, I had a great desire to come to Bangladesh. I am glad that I came here to work in the film.”
“A lot of people seem to have the opinion that the condition of Bangladesh film industry is not so pleasant. In fact, I would not say that the condition of the Kolkata film industry is favourable. It is possible to change negative circumstances through hard work and determination, and it is not possible for someone to do it alone”, he added.
Mim said, “Personally, I am a big fan of Soham, and that’s why I am showing more interest towards the film. Moreover, I have worked with director Raja Chanda earlier for a TVC. Hopefully, together we can all present a good film for the audience.”
Jointly directed by Indian director Raja Chanda and Bangladeshi Kamal Muhammad Kibria Lipu, the shooting of the film will take place in different locations of India and Bangladesh after Eid-ul-Fitr. l
