33 die in Syria rival attacks
AFP, BEIRUT: At least 33 people were killed in the Damascus region as the army bombarded a rebel-held town and the rebels fired rockets into the capital, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights
said yesterday.
At least 24 people, including five children, were killed by government air strikes on Douma, a rebel-held suburb near Damascus. Later, the rebels fired rockets into the capital, striking Arnus Garden, killing nine people, including five women.
Trump announces 2016 bid

Tiger kills man in Tbilisi
AFP, TBILISI: A tiger that killed a man in the central square of Georgia's capital Tbilisi yesterday was shot dead, officials said, four days after hundreds of animals escaped from the city's zoo after deadly floods.
Eyewitnesses told Georgian TV they saw a person getting mauled by a white tiger.
S Korea MERS toll hits 20
AFP, SEOUL: South Korea yesterday announced its 20th death from the MERS virus as criticism grew of efforts to contain the outbreak, with alarming reports of new cases slipping through a quarantine that already affects thousands.
A 54-year-old woman died of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome yesterday morning after being diagnosed on June 5, the health ministry said.
