A Dhaka court yesterday fixed April 25 to hear the statement of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case, reports UNB. Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of Dhaka Special Judge’s Court 3, set up on the Bakshibazar Govt Alia Madrasah playground, passed the order. The court also rejected the two petitions - one for cross-examining the investigation officer of the case again and the others is to show the case document under section 172 (2) of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) -- filed by her counsel. Besides, the court granted a time petition sought by the lawyers of Khaleda Zia for moving their pleas to the High Court and fixed April 25 for arguments.
