Mirzapur police arrested 14 inter-district gang of robbers from Dewhata police out post and foiled a robbery bid yesterday night.
Police recovered lethal weapons and seized a bus that was to be used to commit robbery.
Sub Inspector of Mirzapur police station Noor Mohammad said the robbers in guise of passengers boarded a Dinajpur-bound bus from Dhaka and
tried to loot the passengers when the bus reache Dewhata area in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district at around 9 pm.
Hearing the shouts for help of the passengers inside the bus, local people and police stopped the bus and
arrested all the 14 robbers from the bus. A case has been lodged with Mirzapur police station in this connection and the arrested robbers have been sent to jail hajat on the same day.
The arrested robbers are Rajib, 22 and Bazlu, 25 of Khagorbaria village in Pabna district, Limon, 25, of Mohakhola village in Bogra district, Sabiur, 25, of
Sibaloya in Manikganj district, Belal, 30, of Jalnakata
village in Barguna district, Babul, 24, of Duwarpar village in Sherpur district, Belal, 25, of Betgram village on Gopalganj district, Sawdhin, 25, of Boromagua village in Dinajpur district, Shawkat, 26, of Bonpara village in Munshiganj district, Ripon, 32, of Pandua village of in the
capital, Alamgir, 25, of Jajira village in Madaripur
district, Sirajul, 30, of Najirpur village, Masud, 32, of Charkemusa village and Chan Mia, 30, of Noyali village in Barisal district.
