The 10th Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between Bangladesh and China was held yesterday when the two countries reviewed the progress of current cooperation and discussed future areas of collaboration, reports UNB.
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque and his Chinese counterpart Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Kong Xuanyou led Bangladesh and the Chinese sides respectively at the bilateral discussion held at state guesthouse Meghna in the city.
The bilateral FOC took place after a long gap of over four years, an official said mentioning that the 9th FOC between Bangladesh and China was held on October 17, 2011 in Beijing.
At the FOC, both sides reviewed the whole range of bilateral relations, foreign ministry sources said.
During the consultations, both sides also exchanged views
on important regional and international issues of common
interest.
Meanwhile, visiting Chinese Assistant Minister Xuanyou will meet President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday, said an official at the Foreign Ministry.
