RU to launch new web portal soon
RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi University (RU) is going to launch a new web portal to make all its official and other service-related activities digitized. In addition to the general information about the university, the portal will have all necessary information on various services and students.
RU authority revealed this in an introductory workshop titled ‘New Web Portal and Digital Services’ held at senate building of the university yesterday. Vice-chancellor Prof Mijanuddin and Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan addressed the workshop as chief and special guests respectively with Prof Khademul Islam Mollah, Director of ICT Center, in the chair.
Treasurer Prof Sayen Uddin, Registrar Prof Entajul Haque, Prof Mahbubur Rahman of Department of Computer Science and Engineering and General Manager of Agrani Bank Limited SM Nurul Ahsan also spoke. Prof Mijanuddin said Bangladesh has been experiencing a boom in ICT sectors now-a-days and the new web portal will supplement the process to a greater extent. He said the people concerned, particularly the students will get their information related necessary services from the portal.
Graduation ceremony held at AUB
The English Association of Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB) organised graduation ceremony for 28th batch of English department on Thursday at the Ayesha Auditorium of the university, says a press release.
Professor Abulhasan M Sadeq, vice-chancellor of AUB, was chief guest. He emphasized on the higher studies of the graduates. He said that graduation is not the final/apex step of education; the learners will have to do Masters, M Phil and PhD. KM Monirul Islam, SAVC & Controller of Examinations, Advocate Abul Kalam Azad, treasurer of AUB, Md Mohsin Uddin, dean, School of Arts, Mohsin Miyan, Associate Professor of English Department, ASM Shamem, assistant professor of English department and adviser of English Association, Anwar Parvez , president of English Association attended the program as special guests. Prof Hafizur Rahman Miah, head of the English Department presided over the programme. Later, a colorful cultural session was followed by the programme.
