Cricketers warm up for upcoming DPL

The upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL) is knocking at the door as the league is scheduled to roll on to the ground in the last quarter of April. The players’ transfer will take place on April 10.
This time the much-anticipated league will be held with the participation of the bulk of the national team players.
Only iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and new pace bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman could not take part in it due to their respective IPL stint. Both players have already left the country to join with their franchise and are doing intense practice with their teammates.
Ahead of the 2016 league, there is no major injury concern amongst the national team players. But there are injury problems of some players, who are out of the national team, will be recuperated before the start of the league.
BCB chief physician Debasish Roy Chowdhury in this regard said that all the national team players could take part in the premier league without major injury problem.
“The national players, who have returned home from the just concluded ICC World T20 are all fit for playing. We hope that they all could take part in the premier league from the very first day. But there are a bit injury problems but their treatment is going on. It’ll be going on alongside their games,” said Debasish Roy Chowdhury.
“But those who are out of the national team had a bit injury problem. The treatment for them is also going on. Overall, the first line-up of the national team along with Under-19 players could be fit before the onset of the premier league except two or few players,” Chowdhury told reporters at his BCB office yesterday.
He said that they keep the record of the current status of the high-listed players alongside an approximate date of return of the injured player or players. At the moment, they have a list of injury players are Mehedi Hasan Miraz (U-19), Mehedi Hasan Rana (U-19), Muktar Ali, Shahat Hossain Rajib, Taijul Islam, Abul Hasan Raju, Kazi Anik (U-19), Imran Ali Enam (Robi pacer Hunt), Rubel Hossain, Al Amin.
As per the record, the expected date of return of injured players: Mehedi Hasan Miraz (April 14), Mehedi Hasan Rana (April 17), Muktar Ali (April 7), Shahat Hossain Rajib (April 30), Taijul Islam (April 10).
“It’s better to say that there are some pacer bowlers-Muktar Ali, Shahadat Hossain Rajib, Rubel Hossain, Mehedi Hasan Rana (U-19)- who are in our current rehab programme. All are on way to recovery,” he said, adding “Al Amin has a bit concern in shoulder but he is in the process of treatment. He faces no problem to play. Abul Hasan Raju had problem but is now available. Actually everybody will be fit for playing before the onset of the league except Kazi Anik and Imran Ali Enam. The duo needed more times to recuperate fully.”
