Senior Secretary of Ministry of Public Administration Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury has been elected chairman of UNESCO’s Committee on Conventions and Recommen-dations of the Executive Board. The election was made unanimously at the 199th meeting of the Executive Board held at the UNESCO headquarter in Paris yesterday, according to a press release, issued by the Ministry of Public Administra-tion yesterday. The Committee on Conventions and Recommen-dations (CR) is one of the permanent subsidiary bodies of the Executive Board of UNESCO. It is at present composed of 30 members from all the electoral groups. After the election of new Members of the Executive Board by the General Conference, the board establishes from among its members the permanent commissions and committees necessary to assist it in the execution of its tasks.
