Rahmatganj win a five-goal thriller

Rahmatganj MFS defeated the defending runners-up in the Independence Cup Football when they defeated Soccer Club Feni by 3-2 yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Sohel Meah scored one and Siyo Zunapio scored twice for Rahmatganj while Twuam frank scored both the goals for Soccer Club.  
Rahmatganj, who had better dominance in the match, particularly in the second half the Old Dhaka outfit had better command and also scored two goals out of half a dozen chances they created.
However, the defending runners-up Soccer Club although began the match with positive approach and hinted to keep their momentum of the last year with taking the lead when they went ahead early in the 12th minute. But they could not continue the momentum and conceded three goals.
Twuam Frank, who scored both the goals for Soccer Feni opened the scoring with a superb skills when a hasty move down the left side with captain Akbar Hossain Ridon releasing a cross inside the area and Frank was very quick to sliding on the running ball to score a fine goal (1-0).
 Rahmatganj took just 12 minutes to equalise margin when Sohel Meah snatched the ball from Soccer goalkeeper Osman Goni to push it into open net, as the keeper advanced leaving the post unguarded (1-1).
After a 1-1 first half, Rahmatganj began it a fresh in the post lemon session when they put Soccer Club under tremendous pressure with some strong attacks using with both left and right side. And it was Siyo Zunapio who sent Rahmatganj into lead on 65th minute.
Zunapio, who scored two off three goals for Rahmatganj, scored his first to lead the team with a close range gentle touch in an open net when Nurul Absar crossed the ball from left side, the Ghanaian reached in the correct position to slam home (2-1).
Zunapio scored his second and the third to stretch the lead on 71st minute and this time he was very intelligent to break the off-side trap and edged past the advancing goalkeeper receiving a long ball, left behind all and put the ball into net (3-1).
Twuam Frank reduced the margin for Soccer Feni when he scored in the injury period (2-3).
WEDSON SLAMS TREBLE
Wedson slammed the season’s first hat-trick and Emeka struck a couple of goals as Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club almost confirmed their semifinal berth  when they downed Brothers Union by 5-0 in the day’s second encounter.
It was second successive win for Jamal when they defeated Mohammedan Sporting Club by 2-0 in their season opener.
