Kanak Chapa’s first art show earns admiration

For popular singer Kanak Chapa, it was certainly a momentous week as her artistic skills were displayed through her very first art exhibition titled ‘Didhar Dolachol’. The exhibition took place from April 1 to 4 at Gallery 4 at the National Art Plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed inaugurated the exhibition which featured various artworks by Kanak Chapa. Kanak Chapa received praise for her talents in the exhibition from day one from the visitors. In between, for one day she had to go to Chittagong. On the remaining days, she devoted time to the guests who visited the gallery. She shared her thoughts regarding her very first art exhibition, “Whether I will do the exhibition or not, for that the title ‘Didhar Dolachol’ was given. I had no idea that there was so much love and admiration from the people. I am thoroughly touched by all the love and support. I am very grateful to the print, electronic and online media for showing their support. I must mention the name of the individual without whose support, love, inspiration, encouragement and belief, none of this would have been possible, and that individual is my husband Mainul Islam Khan.” Kanak Chapa also expressed her gratitude towards Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Abdus Shakoor Shah, poet-lyricist Rafiquzzaman, national and international award winning artist Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Ferdousi Rahman, Afzal Hossain, Andrew Kishore, Arjumand Ara Bakul, Monir Khan, Shakur Majid, Zulfiqar Rasel, her online school ‘Khela Ghor’. ‘Didhar Dolachol’ was dedicated to the late eminent artist and director Khalid Mahmud Mithu, who passed away recently in a tragic accident.
