All three accused confess to crime

All three men accused of gang raping a RMG working on a moving bus in Tangail on Friday has given confessional statements in court. Bus driver of Binimoy Paribahan Habibur Rahman Nayan made confessional statement in the court under section 164 yesterday, admitting gang rape of the victims in a moving bus. Another accused, bus supervisor Rezaul Karim Jewel confessed to Tangail Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate M Hamidul Islam on Monday.  Earlier, bus assistant Abdul Khaleque Bhutto’s confession was recorded by Judge Luna Ferdousi on Saturday.  A garment worker boarded a Dhaka-bound bus, as the lone passenger, from Dhanbari in Tangail on Friday early morning. The driver, supervisor and assistant then raped her in the bus. A case was later filed with Dhanbari Police Station and the victim was admitted to Tangail Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital. Dr. Rehena Pervin, consultant of gynaecology department of the hospital, said that evidence of rape had been found in laboratory test. Tangail district road transport workers union, in a meeting on Saturday, expelled the three accused from the union on charge of gang raping the RMG worker, said Meer Lutfor Rahman Lalju, secretary of district unit of the Sramik union.
