Two women candidates bagged the posts of Chairman for the first time in Jessore district in the just concluded Union parishad election.
Nasrin Sultana Khushi wife of Shahidul Islam Milon President of district Awami League has been elected chairman from Noapara union and Naznin Nahar wife of Late Alamgir Hossain, former General Secretary of Juba League Sadar upazilahas been elected chairman from Ramnagore union in the district.
Nasrin Sultana Khushi was elected Chairman of Noapara UP defeating her rival candidate Altaf Hossain (BNP) with about 11,000 votes while Naznin Nahar was elected the chairman of  Ramnagore union by defeating her rival candidate (BNP) Shamim Hossain Bipul.
