A five-day programme titled 'Lecture and discussion on ‘Citizens’ Charter: A Tool for Accountability of State Administration’ and 'Right to Information' ended in Barisal on Thursday evening. Change Makers, a non-profit organisation promoting civic education, human rights, good governance and democracy in Bangladesh and the American Centre, US Embassy, Dhaka has been jointly organised the programmes with the college and university students. Activists and experts on Citizen Charter and RTI attended the programmes as the speakers and make a presentation on the above mention subject. It was an institution-based programme and duration of the program was around two and half hours. More than 1000 students at five colleges participated in the programmes. Main objectives of the programme included inform and educate students on issues related to Citizen Charter, RTI Act, and their rights and how they can be benefited using the law, said Advocate Tanbir ul Islam.
