Criminals gunned down a man near Kamal Chairman Bridge at Sharifpur under Begumganj upazila of the district on Wednesday night, reports BSS. The victim was identified as Faruq, 27, a motorcycle mechanic and son of Nurul Amin of Bepari Bari village of the upazila. Quoting locals, officer-in-charge (Inquiry) of Begumganj Thana Jashim Uddin said the miscreants intercepted Faruq’s motorcycle in the area while he was returning home from his workshop with his brother. Later, the miscreants shot Faruq and snatched away their mobile phone and cash money. Faruq dead on the spot and his brother Milon became seriously injured. He was admitted into Noakhali General Hospital.
A case was filed in this connection.
