Student stabbed to death

 A college student was stabbed to death by criminals following a dispute over taking drugs in Raipara area of Jessore town on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Hasibul Hasan Jim, 18, a student Jessore Government City College and son of Azam Tarafdar, a resident of Chormara Dighirpara area of the town. Iliar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotowali Police Station, said Jim along with his four friends went to the house of a drug peddler in Raipara area at night.
At one stage they locked into altercation with some criminals over taking drugs.They stabbed Jim which left him critically injured. Later, he was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Following the death news, his agitated friends blasted several crude bombs in the area which left a school boy, named Antu, injured. On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Arms recovered in Meherpur

Police recovered a firearm from bordering village Kazipur of Gangni upazila on Sunday.
Officer-in-charge of Gangni police station Akram Hossain said acting on a tip off Noor Islam, Asstt sub-inspector of Peertola Police Camp raided the house of arms trader Hasibul alias Tayum, son of a retired military Omed Ali of village Kazipur in Gangni upazila yesterday and managed to recover one Indian shooter gun from under the sofa of his bedroom.
None was arrested in this connection and the accused house owner was not available during the time of operation. A case has been filed under Arms Act against him.
Criminals stab college student
Joypurhat: A college student was stabbed by an alleged eve-teaser for protesting the eve-teasing of his female classmate at Mitna village of Sadar upazila on Sunday, reports UNB.
The injured was identified as Al-Amin, a 1st year student of Joyourhat Government College and son of Siraj Uddin, a resident of Katahar village of Kalai upazila.
Quoting locals, Farid Hossain, officer-in-charge of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station, said Maruf along with some other friends used to tease Al-Amin’s classmate on her way to college.
On Sunday noon, Al-Amin protested while Maruf was teasing her. At one stage, Maruf stabbed Al-Amin with a knife, leaving him critically injured.
