Bhola district police administration has declared 415 out of 465 poling centers in 42 union parishads most vulnerable.
Raisul Islam, a chairman candidate of BNP in North Digoldi union of Bhola Sadar upazila in a press conference yesterday announced that he would boycott the March 22 poll in protest against intimidation by the ruling party candidate and his supporters.
He also alleged that ruling party men filed false cases against many of the BNP supporters in different unions of the district over the last one week. BNP district joint secretary Harunur Rashid was present at the press conference.
The vulnerable are 99 polling centres in Bhola Sadar, 49 in Daulatkhan, 45 in Lalmohon, 61 in Charfassion and 99 in Borhan uddin thana.
Moniruzzaman, police super of Bhola, said they have taken a four-tier security measures to ensure peaceful holding of union parishad polls.
He also said 17 platoons of BGB members and seven platoons from the Navy have been kept ready as striking force in the district.
