Popular theatre troupe Somoy will stage its highly-praised production ‘Shesh Songlap’ today at 7pm at the Mahila Samity Mancha in the capital’s Baily Road, as a part of a month-long theatre festival titled ‘Bhanga-Gora Natya Utsab’. Directed by Akhteruzzaman, the play is adapted from Egyptian playwright Towfiq Al Hakim’s well-acclaimed play ‘Sultan’s Dilemma,’ while Syed Jamil Ahmed and M Saiful Alam Chowdhury translates it into Bangla. Renowned artist Dhali Al Mamoon designed the poster of the production while the set of the play is designed by Fayez Zahir and Komol Khalid did the music.
The cast of the play includes Pavel Islam, Riaz Mahmud, Arifuzzaman, Ishita Chaki, Tofayel Sarkar, Fakhrul Islam and Mosharaf Hossain, among others.
Tickets will be available in front of the hall before the show. To note, Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation, in association with Ministry of Cultural Affairs, has organised the month-long ‘Bhanga-Gora Natya Utsab’ from February 28 with the slogan ‘Manche Natok Dekhun, Oitihasik Mohila Samity Manche Asun’ at the Mahila Samity Mancha.
