Two cousins were killed and the lawmaker of Thakurgaon was injured in separate road accidents in Magura and Bogra yesterday. In Magura, two cousins were killed as a bus rammed their motorcycle at Baromile on the Magura-Jhenidah road in Magura Sadar upazila yesterday morning. The deceased were identified as Raju Biswas, 19, and Liton Biswas, 20, both residents of Doramadna village of Magura Sadar upazila. Officer-in-Charge of Magura Sadar Police Station Azmal Huda said the two were going home from Magura Sadar riding a motorbike. When they reached Baromile a Meherpur-bound bus -- Mehepur Delux Paribahan -- hit their bike at around 10am, leaving Raju dead on the spot and Liton injured. However, Liton succumbed to his injuries on the way to Magura Sadar Hospital. Police seized the bus while the driver managed to escape. A case was filed with Magura Sadar Police Station in this connection, the OC added. In Bogra, Lawmaker of Takurgaon Selina Jahan Lita, 50, and her driver Bikash Kumar, 36, were injured in a road accident in front of Gokul Pundra University on Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Sadar upazila at around 10.30am.
