Ex-cadets Forum (ECF), a platform of former students of cadet colleges, launched a campaign yesterday to collect used toys that will be distributed among under privileged children across the country.
Presided over by Fida Haque, chief of the social responsibility team of the ECF, celebrities participated at the program and announced their all out support for the programs. Addressing the programme, Haque said their primary target is to distribute toys among 12,000 underprivileged children this year.
Present at the programme, renowned singer Ayub Bachchu of the LRB band said he himself would drive a truck, if necessary, to collect and distribute toys for the underprivileged children across the country.
Appreciating the great initiative, singer Samina Haque echoed Bachchu and pledged her support.
Also present, Rapid Action Battalion Legal and Media Wing Deputy Director Major Rumman Mahmud urged the media to support the initiative. Explaining the initiative, he said the ECF had collected used or non-functional toys from different institutions, schools and persons throughout 2015 and distributed those toys among 2,500 underprivileged children of 20 schools, hospitals and orphanages after repair.
Former national cricket team member Mehrab Hossain Apu, model-turned-actress Jannatul Ferdous Peya, among others, addressed the function and expressed their solidarity to the campaign.
