Priti Ali’s solo art show begins at IGCC tomorrow

DL REPORTER

A two-week solo art exhibition titled ‘Power of Pain & Pathos’ by Priti Ali will begin tomorrow on the Gulshan premises of Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in the capital.
Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Brazilian Ambassador Wanja Campos da Nóbrega and eminent artist Monirul Islam will be present on the occasion and inaugurate the exhibition jointly.
Born on March 24 in 1986, young painter Priti has come forward to show her feelings, ideas and thoughts in colours, tones and textures in this solo exposition. She likes to express herself in abstract and formless identities in informal ways. The perception of subjectivity in terms of human consciousness and cognition has been attempted to be carried out through her creations. Like all, Priti spends her time with love, hate, joy, melancholy, dream, sorrow, solitude and suffering. These have no visual forms, figures or shapes in particular, but inherent subdued perceptions to be felt by the heart. Priti has expressed these formless conjectures in other ways with the help of geometric patterns of dots, lines, squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, seven colors of vibgyor, tones and textures. In this exhibition, Priti skilfully shows the profound human subjective expressions through her brilliant artistic creations.
Priti is presently working as an art teacher in IGCC, High Commission of India in Dhaka. Previously, she was an art teacher at Society for the Welfare of Intellectually Disabled (SWID), Bangladesh, School of Development Alternative – SODA (2007-2012) and ZIAS Academy (2010-2011). She completed her Master of Fine Arts in 2013 from the University of Development and Alternative.
The exhibition will remain open to all from 12pm to 8pm (Friday-Saturday) and from 6pm to 8pm (Sunday-Thursday).
