Prime minister's political adviser HT Imam yesterday said Awami League will get re-elected in 2019 and 2024 elections with the support of the masses. With this aim in mind, he said, the present government is working and implementing different development projects to encourage the people and draw their attention. He was addressing as chief guest the inaugural function of five-day 9th district scout rally, held at Soydabad area in Sirajganj yesterday morning. Sirajganj district unit of scout arranged the programme chaired by deputy commissioner Billal Hossain.
Among others, lawmaker Professor Dr Habib-e-Millat Munna, lawmaker Selina Begum, superintendent of police SM Miraz Uddin, commissioner of district scout Sarker Sanowar Hossain, spoke on the occasion.
Imam said Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman gave historical address on March 7 to awaken the people and encourage them to fight for justice. The address has played the vital role in forging the unity for freedom of the country. It is not possible to feel its essence by reading books only, he said adding to understand its meaning students should hear the address again and again.
“The speech of Bangabandhu can rouse the spirit among the new generation,” he said. Some 648 members of three scout groups from 69 schools took part in the rally that will continue until March 16.
