Bangladesh Women’s team made a good practice beating Irish Women’s by eight wickets with 45 balls remaining in their 2nd official warm–up match of the Women’s World Twenty20 in Bangalore yesterday, reports UNB.
Bangladesh women will start their World T20 campaign taking on hosts India in a Group B match on March 15 in Bangalore.
Winning the toss, Ireland women batted first. But their innings folded at 74 for 9 in 20 overs after losing first four wickets for 13 runs in 6.3 overs.
L Delany scored 17, IMHC Joyce 16 and KJ Grath’s 11 runs were the notable contributors in Ireland innings.
Rumana Ahmed took four wickets for 12 while Jahanara Alam, Salma Khatun, Lata Mondal, Nahida Akhter and Khadiza-tul-Kurba took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 75 runs, Bangladesh easily reached the goal scoring 79 for 2 in just 12.3 overs. Shramin Akhter was not out with 36 off 37 balls featuring five boundaries. Jahanara was unbeated at 16 while Ayesha scored 11 and Sanjida added 10 runs. LKO Reilly and CJ Metcalfel took one wicket each
