Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police in separate drives arrested two persons with 2,410 bottles of phensidyl from Rajsahi and Sylhet districts on Saturday and Sunday, report agencies. RAB in a drive arrested a man with 2367 bottles of phensidyl in Bhagail Bridge area on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi highway under Godagari upazila of Rajshahi district on Sunday, RAB sources said. The arrested was identified as Raihan Alam, 27. They said acting on a tip-off, a RAB team halted a truck in the area and seized the phensidy after searching the vehicle around 12.30pm. The arrestee and seized drugs were handed over to police after filing a case in this connection. Police in a drive arrested a man with 43 bottles of Indian phensidyl near a restaurant in Babna point area of Dakhshin Surma upazila on Saturday afternoon. The arrestee was identified as Abdus Shukur, a resident of Aambari village of Zakiganj upazila. On secret information, police conducted a drive in the area around 5.30pm and arrested the man along with 43 bottles of phensidyl, said sub-inspector Ashraful, officer-in-charge of Dakhshin Surma police station. Shukur had long been involved in drug trading, added SI.
