Culture greatest contributor to Dhaka-Delhi ties: Rizvi

International Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Gowher Rizvi yesterday said culture has the greatest contribution to the relationship between Bangladesh and India, reports UNB. He made the remarks while addressing a function marking the 6th founding anniversary of Indira Gandhi Culture Centre at the National Museum Auditorium. Noting that Rabindranath Tagore and Nazrul Islam bind all of Bangladesh and India together, Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla underscored the need for promoting artistes of the two countries through different programmes. Teachers and students of IGCC performed at the programme. Dr Aparna Pandey and her students sang a chorus song while Hindustani Classical Vocal Music teacher Santosh Kumar Mishra and his students a Qawaali song. Yoga teacher Dr Brajesh Singh and his students displayed a Yoga demonstration while Sankari Mridha presented a Bharatnatyam dance. The last item was a Manipuri dance titled ‘Leichen’ performed by dance teacher Warda Rihab and her students.
