Legendary film actress –producer-director Kohinoor Akhtar Suchanda, who received immense praise for directing ‘Hajar Bochor Dhore’, has been away from the acting scene for a while and has been outside the country for quite a few months. Now, after getting some well deserved rest, she is contemplating directing a tele-drama for the very first time in her career. Regarding her latest venture, she said, “I have come so far in my life. Now at this stage in my life, I am enthralled by this one story and I myself felt very satisfied after reading it. I do not wish to reveal further than that, but would say that it has been written by a famous writer. I wrote the screenplay myself and will start the work for its direction in just a few days. To be honest, when I directed ‘Hajar Bochor Dhore’, I myself was very satisfied with it. If I am not satisfied with any work of mine, I do not wish to present it to the audience.” For her outstanding contributions towards culture as an actress, producer, director and various social works, RTV awarded her with the prestigious ‘Alokito Nari Award’ on March 8 on the occasion of Women’s Day. She said, “As a woman in a male dominated society, to be recognised and appreciated for the works and efforts is truly something satisfactory to me. I see it as a great achievement.” As mentioned earlier, Suchanda recently returned to the country and she informed that after taking rest for a while, for her new venture of directing a tele-drama, she will begin the artiste selection.
